Compared with discrete IGCT + external separate diode stacks (5SDF series), this RC integrated design reduces bus stray inductance, simplifies cabinet layout and cuts overall equipment volume. Hermetic ceramic press-pack housing eliminates internal solder layers for outstanding thermal cycling reliability; device fails in short-circuit mode to avoid generator loss-of-field runaway hazards in power plant excitation systems.
